ROTARY ELTHAM ART SHOW 2026
“Walter Withers Prize $1,500”

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The Walter Withers selective prize will be awarded to an Artist who has produced an enPlein air art work of a Nillumbik Historical Site.
1.) All works must be executed during the weekend of the 15/16th August, 2026.
2.) All pieces must be painted on sheets provided by the artist, stamped and dated by the Watercolour Society (WSV) at the blue Guide Hall at the end of Youth Road, Eltham on the weekend of the 15/16 August. Up to 3 sheets can be stamped, only one of which can be submitted.
3.) Artists can also register through the Rotary Eltham Art Show website from 18 July 2026 www.elthmartshow.org.au – Walter Withers enPlein air challenge
4.) As artists arrive at the Guide Hall, volunteers will be available to assist them to register (no charge) onto the Art Galleria system. Artists can spend the whole weekend painting ie commencing and finishing on Saturday or Sunday.
5.) Artists are encouraged to return to the Guide Hall on 15th or 16th August between 3.30 and 5 pm to submit their works into the system ($12) for selection. This involves uploading a photo of the piece and nominating a sale price.
6.) All works must be returned to the Guide Hall for submission on the day they were commenced.
7.) All pieces must note a sale price.
8.) Upon selection, artists will automatically be charged a selection fee of $12.00 plus a further $90 for fully mounted professional framing at a discounted rate by Opticon Framing*. Artists will be advised if their piece is selected by 12 noon on Tuesday 18th August.
9.) If selected, the WSV will collect pieces during the afternoon of Tuesday 18 August for framing and subsequent delivery to the Art Show.
10.) The selected 10 works will be submitted for judging and sale at the Rotary Eltham Art Show. Sales are subject to 25% commission (inc. GST) to the Rotary Club of Eltham.

12.) The award will be announced at the ticketed Gala Opening on Friday the 28th August at the Eltham Community & Reception Centre. (Refer website.)
The prize will be judged by Andrew MacKenzie. The Prize is sponsored by John Withers, grandson of Walter Withers.
